Kathryn Neely Memorial Garden Club members and helpers at work. Kathryn was a much loved member of the Albuquerque Daylily Society. To honor and remember her we built the garden pictured below. We began with staking, grass removal, and trench digging in February 2003. Blocks were delivered March 10 and we started the first wall. We planted the first daylilies in the flat part of the garden June 17th. We built steps with the help of Alan and Rozanne Tuffnell, added crusher fines to form the pathways, planted more daylilies, and added a Japanese Lantern. You can see it was a labor of love by many of our members. |
